Cerium phosphate is another important rare earth phosphate, used in catalysts, polishing compositions, UV-blocking glass, and emerging functional materials. Global production is closely tied to cerium availability from rare earth ores, with China historically contributing a major share of cerium chemical output. Over the last decade, cerium phosphate production has shown moderate growth, driven by automotive catalytic converters, glass and display polishing, and niche applications in electronics and specialty coatings. As with other rare earths, production trends reflect expansion and consolidation cycles in mining, separation, and downstream refining. From 2015 to 2020, worldwide cerium phosphate volumes increased as automotive and electronics demand expanded, although oversupply in some rare earth segments periodically pressured prices.
