Fluoroapatite (Ca₅(PO₄)₃F) is primarily known as a mineral source of phosphate and fluorine and is used in phosphate fertilizer production (as a feedstock mineral), specialty ceramics, and certain chemical intermediates. Commercial interest in fluorapatite ties closely to its role in phosphate rock deposits that are processed into phosphoric acid and fertilizer intermediates.
