Students provide their names and dash pins to the driver, allowing the driver to verify their accounts using the driver app. The driver then uses the image to verify that they paid the correct amount before the app processes the payment upon arrival at the destination. "It was wonderful to receive the assistance and support of all of the people in Cork," Mr. Richard Commins stated.

Introduction
Project Dash Project Dash (Driving All Students to Home) was
designed through collaboration between NUI Galway students.
Students can use taxis even without money, credit cards, or mobile.
A significant number of students from universities, as well as taxi
firms, have signed up to make use of the services since the program
was implemented during the time that it was in Galway and Carlow.
Richard Commins, a final-year student of business information
systems at NUI Galway who led the project's creation, was at UCC
today to participate in the launch of the initiative.
About Richard Commins
Richard Commins, 23, from Claregalway, launched his brand new app that allows
users to hail and pay for a taxi without a phone, bank card or cash on them. 'Flag'
requires users to upload a photo ID and a personal code to their account which is then
linked to their debit or credit card. The idea for Flag evolved from a similar student
taxi app called Dash, which Richard developed while in his final year of Business
Information Studies at NUI Galway. Richard Commins is now just one step away from
landing the keys to a brand new taxed and insured Nissan to drive for a year having
been named as one of 20 finalists put forward to the public voting stage of the
competition. He was one of almost 1,000 people who applied to the innovative
ambassador programme which helps people to follow their dream and to get ahead
with the backing and support of Nissan.
