WHAT IS THE BEST OIL 
FOR DRY SKIN?
The first answer is, there is no “best” 
oil for dry skin, at least not across the board 
as it applies to everyone.  What works for me 
may not work for you.  That’s why knowing a 
bit about your skin’s needs, as well as 
knowing, and treating, the cause of dry skin 
is really important.  
ARGAN OIL FOR DRY SKIN
● Argan oil has so many benefits for dry skin.  It’s full of omega 6 fatty acids that our skin needs, and 
that dry skin is crying out for!  Specifically, an omega 6 fatty acid that argan oil is rich in is called 
linoleic fatty acid.  This essential fatty acid is a natural part of our skin’s cells, so applying argan oil 
to dry skin helps to moisturize and hydrate skin at a cellular level.  
● Argan oil also contains squalene, which is HUGE: squalene is a fatty acid that naturally mimics our 
own skin’s fatty acid profile.  That means that it’s well absorbed and well-utilized by our bodies.  
But what really makes argan oil’s squalene content so exciting is this: far too many beauty 
products contain squalene that has been harvested from shark livers.  Not only is this entirely 
inhumane, but it also threatens our ocean’s health and safety: oceanic ecosystems are delicate, 
and the loss of these already-endangered animals further threatens their welfare.  Sharks 
havebeen hunted and harvested for their livers and fins alone, which is a wasteful, cruel 
practice.Plant forms of squalene are available (and argan oil is one source; another great source is 
olive oil) and should always be chosen over animal-based forms of squalene.  To ensure that your
