How Does Egg Donation Work? 
At the start of the process, the donor woman is given medication that causes her to develop 
multiple eggs in a single cycle. These eggs are then collected from the ovaries of the donor 
by placing a needle that is attached to an ultrasound probe. These eggs are then evaluated 
and injected with the sperm of the partner or donor to cause fertilization.

Who Can Become An Egg Donor? 
Any healthy woman between the ages of 21 and 34 who are willing to provide eggs to 
someone else can become an egg donor. They can be unknown donors or known 
people to the intended parents. Donors are tested for infections such as HIV and many

Success Rate Of Egg Donation
Having a successful pregnancy using egg donation depends on many factors. Using 
donor eggs shows a higher success rate in treating infertility with about 50 to 70% 
conceiving on the first attempt and 90% with three attempts.
