What Do You Mean By Online Will Writing
In Singapore?
Maybe the most valuable thing you possess is your smartphone.
Perhaps the only individual you care about in this world is your cat.
But that doesn't mean that you don't need to write your Will.
Undoubtedly, it goes without saying that if you have kids, aged
parents, or anyone in this world who depends upon you, writing a
Will is essential. There are two ways to write legal Wills; one is
Online Will Writing in Singapore, and the other is through Wills
Lawyers from our firm.
A Will is an official document that stipulates your wishes to distribute
your wealth after your death. You can also choose a legal guardian
for your small children and indicate your preferred funeral
arrangements.
Even if you think you do not have much value, you can write a will for
free or cheap these days, so there's no reason not to.
How to write a Will in Singapore?
Technically speaking, anybody can write a valid and legal will in
Singapore, not just lawyers. But not every Will written is always
correct. Our firm provides Online Will Writing in Singapore, and it
requires us to fulfill some requirements.
For a will to be lawful, it must satisfy the following requirements:
It must be in writing.
You must be at least 21.
You must sign the Will at the bottom.
Your signature must be witnessed by at least two eyewitnesses who
are neither beneficiaries of your Will nor partners of beneficiaries.
These observers must sign the Will in front of you.
,
These points are not compulsory, but it's a good idea to submit the
whereabouts of your Will to the government's Will Registry and let
your executors know too.
That's the easy part. But just because a will is technically legal & valid
doesn't mean that it will do everything you want it to do.
In your Will, include a list of your assets and designate all
beneficiaries and how much one will receive.
Don't forget to include a list of your liabilities (e.g., your debts) and
indicate how you want them to get settled using your assets before
the remainder gets set up for your beneficiaries.
You should also provide your executors and advisors (e.g., lawyers or
accountants) and include a clause that voids previous wills.
Finally, you likely won't be able to include every single asset on your
own in the Will. Some of your beneficiaries might die before you,
thus leaving your share unnamed. So you'll have to put in a clause
that indicates how you want the remainder of your estate to get
distributed.
What is the expense of writing a Will?
If you want to be very sure you will distribute your assets the way
you want them to, you might want to seek help from a professional.
