A1 SELT – GESE GRADE 2    
 For taking up A1 SELT you must pass a Secure 
English Language Test (SELT) in A1 Speaking and 
Listening at the CEFR level.
 Exam in the GESE Grade 2 (CEFR A1) phase has 
the following features:
 6 minute speaking and listening test
 Same Day Pass/Fail Results
 Certificate usually sent within 7 days

A2 SELT – GESE GRADE 3
The A2 English Language Test is taken up after passing the 
A2 Speaking and Listening Test and there should be a gap of 
2.5 years after passing the A1 Test.
 UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires non-EEA nationals 
to pass a Secure English Language Test (SELT) in speaking 
and listening at level A2 after 2.5 years in the UK.
While taking up Exam in the GESE Grade 3 (CEFR A2.1) you 
need to adhere to the following points.
7 minute speaking and listening test
Same Day Pass/Fail Results
Certificate usually sent within 7 days

B1 SELT – GESE GRADE 5
 You must pass a Secure English Language Test (SELT) in the 
CEFR level B1 in Speaking and Listening.
 The exam is 10 minutes long. There are two parts:
 Topic Phase  (about 5 minutes)
 Conversation Phase  (about 5 minutes)
 Exam in the GESE Grade 2 (CEFR A1) phase has the following 
features:
 10 minute speaking and listening test
 Same Day Pass/Fail Results
 Certificate usually sent within 7 day Speaking & Listening only
