Xala is a land development project 
created to honor the local 
communities, environment and natural 
elements of Costalegre, along the 
Pacific coast of Mexico. The resort is 
based on sustainable principles and 
seeks to protect and restore native 
plants and animals. 250 hectares of 
the 1200-hectare land development 
will be reforested to create a private, 
protected area for reptiles, ocelots, 
turtles and other local animals.
Leading The Recovery and Restoration Efforts 
The Xala land development project is 
leading the recovery and restoration 
efforts for the Chalacatepec and Xola-
Paraman estuaries—wetlands playing 
a significant role in the Costalegre 
region’s migratory bird patterns. Based 
on the Pacific coast of Mexico, Xala is 
a new community that will integrate 
luxury lodgings with community-
focused, sustainable practices.
